The Mission of the Westside Men’s Basketball Program is to foster the development of young men and women into productive citizens through the use of sports. Our focus is to help our youth through character, community and competition. A few of the program’s objectives are:

• To build and sustain a quality and competitive program

• To fundraise and help support the program

• To help provide opportunities both academically and athletically beyond high school participation

The Westside Men’s Basketball Program, under the leadership of Head Coach Jerry Hunter, has become a staple in the city of Augusta and throughout the State of Georgia. The program has compiled a record of 114-30 over the last 5 years which includes: 1 Sweet Sixteen Appearance, 3 Region Championships, and 3 Consecutive State Championships. The program has produced 3 out of the last 5 Region Players of the Year (Khalon Hudson twice & DeMarco Middleton). The program has produced several All- Region 1st Team Players, 3 out of the last 5 Region Defensive Players of the Year (Jalexs Ewing twice and Dontrell Jackson), and 3 of the last 5 Class 2AA State Players of the Year (Khalon Hudson twice and DeMarco Middleton).

Coach Hunter has also been awarded Region and State Coach of the Year on multiple occasions. At Westside….. The Standard is NOT The Standard……. The Standard is WESTSIDE!!
